Mature Students

For admission purposes, Waterloo’s definition of a mature student varies by faculty.

Mature students are considered on a case-by-case basis, based on academic records, resumés and other biographical material, such as personal and professional development, formal training, work experience and community service.

Mature student admission is not guaranteed and we may require academic upgrading to have a competitive application.

If you have previously attended university or college, you are not considered to be a mature student for admission purposes.

Email us if you have questions about applying.
