Housing and Transportation

Where you live and how you get to your classes are important parts of university life.

U of G gives you information to help you decide whether you should apply for residence or seek housing off campus. If you live off campus, you can find information about public transportation options and parking services to help you with your commute if you are driving.

Housing

On Campus

U of G offers different styles of residence on campus, including traditional and apartment style. You can also experience unique living accommodations through Living-Learning Communities and Academic Clusters, which are organized around themes (arts, eco, Indigenous, international, leadership, alcohol-free and study-intensive) or academic programs.

Residence Life

Residence life is about more than where you live – it is where you will find a community. With a senior student mentor to guide you, you will have the chance to participate in exciting programming that builds on what you are learning inside the classroom, while getting to know students from different programs.

Indigenous House

Seeking a vibrant and respectful intercultural on-campus living experience centred around self-discovery, community and Indigenous ways of knowing, being and doing? Choose Indigenous House. You will have an opportunity to learn with First Nations, Inuit and Métis Knowledge Holders, staff and faculty through ceremony, storytelling, circles, socials and events. All students are welcome to join this community to gain a greater understanding of themselves and others. Indigenous House is supported in collaboration with the Indigenous Student Centre.
