U of G offers financial aid to eligible students, as well as many scholarships and bursaries specifically for First Nations, Inuit and Métis students.
Scholarships and Bursaries
Financial aid is available to you through scholarships, bursaries and government loans, including scholarships and awards specifically for First Nations, Inuit and Métis students.
The following are examples of awards available at U of G:
- The Lincoln Alexander Chancellor’s Scholarship is open to entering students who identify as Indigenous, persons with a disability or members of a racial minority, and who demonstrate superior leadership ability and involvement in high school and communities.
- The Indigenous Student Engagement Scholarship is open to students in any program who self-identify as First Nations (status and non-status), Métis or Inuit and who are engaged in the Indigenous community in their home community or at U of G.
- The Jack and Lillian MacDonald Scholarship is open to students coming from the Six Nations Polytechnic (SNP) University Program.

Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP)
A student loan through OSAP is one of the ways that you can help to supplement funding for your postsecondary education.
U of G uses OSAP to determine financial need for all bursaries and work study.
Work-study Program and Part-time Work
Experience Guelph is your gateway to on-campus employment, work study, course-integrated learning and cooperative education. Some of the jobs available include helping professors with research or working at campus units, such as the library, Wellness Education Centre or Indigenous Student Centre.
