Indigenous Student Services

Indigenous Education and Cultural Services offers inclusive learning spaces, including the Baagwating Indigenous Student Centre and Mukwa’s Den. We strive for these spaces to be your home away from home. You can talk with counsellors, meet other students and join in on Indigenous activities and cultural events.

At the centre, you can access culturally focused counselling and supports from a mental health counsellor. Our culturally relevant services and programs are designed to meet your individual needs as a First Nation (Status or Non-status), Inuit or Métis student.

You can also attend sweat lodge ceremonies, cultural workshops, cultural food days and talks by guest speakers, and access the Indigenous Knowledge Keeper.

You are encouraged to drop in to the centre when an Elder visits the university as part of the Visiting Elders program.
