Alternative Admission and Transition Programs

Students Making A Realistic Transition (SMART) is Brock’s academic orientation program for all incoming first-year students. The SMART website provides a step-by-step guide on becoming a Brock student and features short videos for pre-orientation.

Start with Strategies Program

The annual Start with Strategies program is a 4-day transition program designed to introduce students with learning disabilities to university life. Students are invited to stay overnight in residence, eat meals in the residence cafeteria, stay in private dorm rooms, become familiar with various lecture halls, seminar rooms and teaching styles, and get to know their way around campus.

Mindful Transitions Program

Mindful Transitions is a program designed for incoming first-year students with a diagnosed and documented disability. The program includes workshops and information to ease your transition to university life.
