Alternative Admission and Transition Programs

SMART Start

Start with Strategies Program

The annual Start with Strategies program is a 4-day transition program designed to introduce students with learning disabilities to university life. Students are invited to:

  • stay overnight in residence,
  • eat meals in the residence cafeteria,
  • stay in private dorm rooms,
  • become familiar with various lecture halls, seminar rooms and teaching styles, and
  • get to know their way around campus.

Mindful Transitions Program

Mindful Transitions is a program designed for incoming first-year students with a diagnosed and documented disability. The program includes workshops and information to ease your transition to university life.
